Welcome
Welcome to the May edition of "News from the Mews" the official newsletter of Vitesse Supercar Club.

The start of 2008 has been very exciting with new fleet additions (and more to come!) and great progress on the new club house which will officially open next month (see below). In this edition of the newsletter we have news of the latest fleet editions and also information about how you could be at the Monaco Grand Prix or Le Mans.

As ever, we are keen on your feedback. Let us know what you would like to see in the fleet or which events you would like to attend via Vitesse Plus.

Save the Date!
During April, we have been busy putting the finishing touches to Vitesse's new club house at Hamsterly Hall. We are planning an opening event for the new club house on the evening of Monday 2nd June 2008 which we hope will be a really special occasion - watch out for your personal invitation which will be arriving soon.

Fleet News
March saw the addition of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S to the Vitesse fleet. Described by AutoExpress as "fast, nimble and comfortable, and vastly expensive...", the Turbo S has a unique combination of space, four wheel drive capability and incredible performance. The Turbo S can deliver 0-60mph in five seconds and top 170mph, which is a lot faster than a supercharged Range Rover Sport. Some say it is the most powerful V8 on the planet and at 521bhp it is hard to argue! The car is classified as a Group V3, so you could take it for a spin during the week for only 9 points at the moment.

February saw the arrival of the Ferrari F430 Spider. Lurking under the engine cover of the F430 lies a 4.3-litre engine, tuned to give 483bhp at a screaming 8500rpm. Acclaimed motoring journalist Andrew Frankel once pointed out that the F430 Spider actually has more power than the Ferrari F40, the fastest road car the world had ever seen in the '80's. With fine weather forecast, the F430 Spider is the perfect car for roof-down motoring on a fine spring day.

Vitesse Plus
At Vitesse we aim to offer more than just access to great cars, we also arrange access to some great motorsport events using our contacts and experience. If there are any events that you would like to attend, please let us know.

Monaco: For 2008, we have some very limited availability to access a balcony overlooking the start/finish straight at Monaco for the 66th Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix (May 24th and 25th). We have utilised this venue for a number of years and it provides excellent viewing and great hospitality. If you are interested, please contact Karl at Vitesse by e-mail. Please note that availability is very limited. As you may know, securing hotel accomodation in Monaco itself is extremekly difficult, however any members wishing to obtain accomodation for the Grand Prix should contact us as we have access to some accomodation very near the harbour but again, availability is very limited.

Le Mans: A number of members have expressed an interest in visiting Le Mans for the 76th 24 Hours of Le Mans to be held in June (14th and 15th). If this is of interest then let us know by e-mail to Karl.
