JUNE 08 - NEW VITESSE CLUB HOUSE OPENS
A large crowd turned out to celebrate the opening of Vitesse’s new club house in the grounds of Hamsterley Hall near Newcastle upon Tyne on Monday 2 June.

Guests were welcomed with a Champagne reception and were free to take a good look at the Vitesse fleet of supercars ranging from Ferrari to Ariel and from Bentley to Porsche. Also on display was a contemporary Formula 1 car to mark Vitesse’s association with the exciting FV10 project (see separate story).

Guests included former British Formula 3 Champion and Formula 1 test driver Marc Hynes together with successful British Touring Car driver Adam Jones who bagged a podium finish the day before at the Croft round of the BTCC driving his Seat Leon. Marc and Adam entertained the guests with a lively Question & Answer session that allowed members of the audience to ask questions ranging from driver fitness and coaching to the driver’s skills on the latest video games. Marc confirmed he was indeed an expert on Resident Evil but was not so sure about the driving games!

A great evening was had by all and members were able to see the new club house for the first time. Landscaping and the construction of new access roads will follow over the next few months but all agreed that the setting, within the grounds of Hamsterley Hall, is fantastic and provides a great venue for both club events and also for picking up or dropping off a fabulous range of supercars.
